Gia Schioppo Calistro
Gia Schioppo Calistro concentrates her practice in the areas of civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense. She also engages in the general practice of law, which includes personal injury, worker's compensation, property damage recovery for a major utility in Connecticut, education and business law as well as residential real estate transactions, landlord tenant and Wills.
Attorney Calistro is a member of the Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Haven Bar Associations, the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association and the Education Law Committee Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. In 1999 she was appointed to serve on the Athletic Advisory Council at Providence College in which capacity she served through 2005. She is currently an Alumni Admission Ambassador of the College. She is an active member of the New Haven Club of Providence College, previously serving on their Executive Board and as Scholarship Chair Person.
Attorney Calistro obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Communications from Providence College in 1987 and also attended Ithaca College in London, England. She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from Western New England College School of Law. In addition to Connecticut, she is admitted to practice in the state courts in Rhode Island and the United States District Court of Connecticut.
