Representative Examples of Land Use and Development Permits
Successfully received permits for the development of a 15 acre parcel in the Town of North Haven for 12 single family residences. Those permits included approval from the Town's Inlands/Wetlands Commission for the development. It also included approval from the Town's Planning and Zoning Commission for the subdivision of the land from one parcel into 12 lots, as well as an area for open space as required by the regulations. The project received the approval of the State of Connecticut DOT for the construction of the new subdivision road into the existing state highway (Rt. 17) and also from the State DEP to connect into the storm water system in the same state highway.
Other approvals include approval for mixed use development in East Lyme, CT, a hotel, restaurant and marina in Old Saybrook, CT, an office park for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in North, Haven, CT, and a tower for a radio station antenna in Hamden, CT.
Representation of Quinnipiac University for numerous approvals related to the expansion and improvements to its campuses in both the Town of Hamden as well as the Town of North Haven. Approvals obtained include not only the municipal Inlands/Wetlands and Planning and Zoning Commissions and Zoning and Board of Appeals as well as the State DOT, DEP and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Representative projects have included the 7,200 seat TD Banknorth Sports Center which houses the University's Division 1 hockey and basketball teams, new dormitory buildings for many of the school's 5,000 undergraduate students, the law school and business school buildings as well as many other campus improvements.
Approvals for the development of a 200,000 square foot retail facility in the Town of North Haven. This multi-tenant shopping center includes many national retailers such as Target, Sports Authority and Michaels Crafts. The approvals were obtained from the Town's Inlands/Wetlands Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission and the Zoning and Board of Appeals as well as the State DOT and DEP.
