Attorney Bernard Pellegrino, Jr. Delivers a Favorable Decision To His Client, Quinnipiac University

The firm is pleased to announce that Attorney Bernard Pellegrino, Jr. was instrumental in delivering a favorable decision to our client, Quinnipiac University, dismissing two appeals brought against it and the Hamden Planning and Zoning Commission arising out of the Commission’s approval of two Special Permit applications filed by the University for the construction of two athletic field developments on the University’s main campus on Mt. Carmel Avenue. The new facilities, the construction of which are nearing completion in time for the start of the 2017 fall semester, will be the home for the University’s men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse teams as well as the women’s field hockey team. Pellegrino also represented the University in obtaining all of the required permits before the Town’s Planning and Zoning and Inland Wetland Commissions.

"I am thrilled that the Court rendered the decision dismissing both appeals. The substantial record before the Commission at the hearings supported Judge Cohn’s well-reasoned decision. In addition, the Commission placed conditions on the approvals that provided adequate protection to the health, safety and welfare of the neighboring environs and the residents thereof," stated Attorney Pellegrino. "These new facilities will be a tremendous boost to the University main campus and will provide state of the art athletic venues to the teams and the student body in general in the same way that the TD Bank Sports Center has on the York Hill Campus" he added.

The University plans to open the facilities next month for its fall soccer and field hockey seasons. Go Bobcats!
