The Pellegrino Law Firm represents both creditors and debtors concerning bankruptcy issues. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition gives individuals a fresh start, by discharging most credit card debt and medical bills. Clients retain exempt assets. A Chapter 13 bankruptcy plan is useful to individuals that have the income to pay a portion of their debts, while retaining their assets, such as a home with significant equity. Lastly, our firm works with small businesses to reorganize and remain in business under a Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan. Our firm also works with creditors, both secured and unsecured, in all bankruptcy cases in Connecticut. We currently represent CHFA and various mortgage servicers, when a homeowner files for bankruptcy protection. We have also litigated bankruptcy matters in the Federal District Court and United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals. We keep clients advised of any proposed legislative changes and new bankruptcy laws.
