Biography
Frances B. Granquist's practice specializes in estate planning, probate, elder law, and all real estate transactions. This includes commercial and residential tax appeals, and landlord-tenant disputes.
Attorney Granquist is dedicated to helping individual clients. With a law degree and an undergraduate degree in accounting, she possesses the expertise to assist her clients in saving money in several areas, including estate planning, elder benefits, and tax appeals. She is always willing to educate the community about estate planning and elderly benefits through guest lectures, small groups, and nonprofit events.
Attorney Granquist has been an active member of the Hamden Chamber of Commerce since 1993. She served as Vice President from 1996 to 1997 and as President from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, she is a member of the Chamber's Women in Business Section and serves on its scholarship committee. Attorney Granquist is also a frequent speaker for the women enrolled in the Women to Work Program at the Keefe Center. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Outstanding Leadership and Service Award in 2001 and the Chamber Choice Outstanding Contribution Award in 2008.
Attorney Granquist has served on the Advisory Board of Sacred Heart Academy for ten years. In 2002, she received The Hearts of the Community Award. Frances has been actively involved with the Special Olympics, serving as the team handball site captain, and has been a Team Captain for Relay for Life each year since 2005.
Additionally, Attorney Granquist is a member of the Board of Directors at Albertus Magnus College and has participated in various committees, including the Connecticut Bar Association's Pro Bono Committee, the Community Service Committee, and the New Haven County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service Committee. She is also a member of the New Haven and Connecticut Bar Associations and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Attorney Granquist earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Fairfield University and her Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University. She was admitted to practice in State Court in 1987 and Federal Court in 1988.
